暑期社會實踐合作項目 Joint Summer Social Project: Shin Shin Educational Foundation & Peking University Youth League
緣起 Background
近年來在中國經濟的快速發展衝擊下,各地所建欣欣小學的規模、交通及地區發展已有改變,導致學校的需求亦與前不同。為了解學校現況及各項計劃 (如一人一書圖書計劃、電腦設備、英語師資培訓及後續基金等) 的落實情況,讓中國偏遠地區的孩子們有一個較佳的讀書環境,一個暑期實地訪查的活動展開了。Due to the impact of the rapid development of the Chinese economy in recent years, there have been significant changes to previously established Shin Shin schools, the local traffic, and the development of the areas surrounding the schools. This causes the needs of the schools to differ from those of the earlier days. In order to understand the schools’ current status and the execution of each program (such as “One Book Per Student” Literacy Program, Computer Lab Program, the English Teachers Training Program, and Follow-Up Special Need Grant), while also maintaining the goal of providing a better study environment in the remote area, a summer fact-finding activity is initiated.
過程 Process
欣欣教育基金會執行長李競芬,今年透過北大教育基金會施旭東總裁聯絡北大校友會及共青團北京大學委員會,第一次嘗試與中國國內大學社團合作。 由欣欣教育基金會設計學校現況問卷調查表及提供經費,並協調湖南省僑辦協助落實計劃。 Through the assistance of Xu-Dong Shi, Director General of Peking University Education Foundation (USA) in conjunction with the Youth League Committee of Peking University, Betty Yuan, Chief Operating Offer of Shin Shin Educational Foundation, made the first attempt to work with the student association at a university in China.
配合北大學生放暑假而欣欣小學還在上課的時間,針對湖南湘西的欣欣小學進行測試性的調研工作。此次調研工作北大團委遴選及培訓了八位北京大學同學分為兩組,各七天時間訪問了湖南湘西34所欣欣小學中的22所學校。Shin Shin Educational Foundation has designed its school status survey questionnaire, provided expense funds, and coordinated with Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hunan province to carry out the plan. Adapting to the summer vacation time of the students in Peking University while the classes of Shin Shin schools are still in session, the trial investigation and research work has been proceeded. Eight students who were selected and trained by the Peking University committee conducted the school visit. The students were divided into two teams. Each team spent seven days to visit 22 of the 34 Shin Shin schools in the western Hunan province.
結果 Results
北大學生不僅僅是深入窮鄉僻壤為欣欣小學進行調研工作,調查欣欣小學現況及需求,還為身處鄉間的孩子們藉由大哥哥大姊姊的交流,知道讀書可以實現理想和對外界多一份了解。對於居住在城市的北大學生,經歷到鄉間孩子的純真與貧困,更珍惜自己能夠接受高等教育。期盼將來自己也能為社會多盡一分心力。Not only were the students of Peking University able to reach the remote and backward areas to process the investigation and research work, but also they were able to investigate the current situation and the needs of Shin Shin schools Additionally, through the interactions with these “big brothers and big sisters”, they made the rural children to understand that learning can help them accomplish their goals and have a greater grasp of the outside world. The Peking University students living in the city were able to experience the innocence and poverty of the children, and will consequently cherish their opportunity to receive higher education. They are expected to contribute their share to society in the future.
縮短城鄉差距,校校上網,令地處偏遠的欣欣孩子們也能與世界接軌,是欣欣基金會的目標。讓我們攜手同心,共創未來。Shin Shin Foundation’s objectives are to shorten the gap between schools in cities and those in rural areas, and to provide all Shin Shin schools with internet access so that the children can connect to the world. Let us work together to make this goal a reality.
一篇北京大學同學的日記 Journal of a Peking University Student
孩子們都非常天真可愛,讓我們大笑也大哭。孩子們說“想學普通話,因為那樣就可以早點出去打工賺錢”;孩子們說“想學電腦,更想要一個教我們電腦的老師”;孩子們說“喜歡讀書,…”我們想為孩子們做得太多,我們能為孩子們做的又太少,我們只是給了他們一點點希望,他們卻給我們整個春暖花開的世界。The children are very innocent and lovely. This makes me laugh and makes me cry. The children said, “We want to learn Mandarin so that we can go to work sooner and earn money.” The children also said, “We want to learn how to use a computer and we want to have a teacher who can teach us these skills.” The children continued on to say, “We like to study…” We want to do so many things for the children but can only do so much. We only gave them a little bit of hope; nevertheless, they gave us an entire warm and beautiful world.
某一天,去班裡和孩子們聊天,孩子們每個問題都回答的好大聲好齊,“想去北京嗎?”“想”;“去過北京嗎?”“沒有”;“想看什麼呢?”“天安門”…只是一個我們的QQ號他們都如獲至寶,只是那麼短的相識他們都捨不得我們走,讓我們再唱一首歌再唱一首歌,姐姐何嘗不想多唱一首歌?姐姐好想給你們插上一雙“隱形的翅膀”… One day, I was chatting with the children in the class. They all answer the questions in the same way and quite loudly. “Do you want to go to Beijing?” “Yes.” “Have you ever been to Beijing?” “No.” “What do you want to see in Beijing?” “Tiananmen Square.” .… For one little QQ horn, they treat it like a treasure. Even though we’ve only known the children for a very short time, they hate to see us leave. “Let us sing another song, sing another song together.” It’s not that the big sister doesn’t want to sing another song; big sister wants to give you an “invisible wing.”
我好害怕我欺騙了他們,因為我說“姐姐帶你們去北京”“姐姐給你們買喜歡的書”,可是我深深的知道,我的能力太有限了,也許一個個許諾只是一張張空頭支票,在這個物慾橫流的社會,名利場上的勾心鬥角不會使我羞愧,但面對著這樣一群對我們滿滿的信賴,把整顆心交給我們,我們隨意的一句話,他們都會埋進心裡種成夢的孩子,我又怎能容忍自己只給他們一顆不會發芽的種子? I am so afraid of disappointing them because I told them “Big sister will take you to Beijing. Big sister will buy you the books you like.” But I know deeply in my heart that my abilities are limited. Maybe every promise is just a bad check. Facing the society of material desires, I don’t feel ashamed of intriguing others for fame and gain. But, facing this group of children who trusted me fully and gave me their whole heart, how can I allow myself to give them a dead seed that will not germinate in the future? They are the children who will take every word we said into their dreams.
