欣欣今年完成贈書計劃 Shin Shin Will Complete the Book Program 2010

欣欣教育基金會與古市扶輪社經過多年合作，今年將完成「一人一書」的贈書計劃，共惠及12萬中國偏遠山區的學生。雙方表示將繼續攜手合作，通過為清寒學生提供教育機會幫助他們走出貧困。
Shin Shin has been
collaborated with the Cupertino Rotary Club in the book giving program for many
years. This year, we will complete the "one book per child" program, which
benefits 120,000 children in the remote areas in China.
昨日古市扶輪社向欣欣基金會頒贈了2009財政年度的7萬3000元的支票，贊助基金會為培養貧困學生閱讀習慣而開展的「一人一書」贈書計劃，令過去5年來，扶輪社匹配捐款的總額達到25萬4,000元。
昨日，歷屆古市扶輪社社長與欣欣基金會成員暢談與聯手合作5年來的難忘經歷。曾經3度帶團參訪欣欣小學的古市前市長Orrin Mahoney說，孩子們在雪中列隊迎接，找機會跟與美國來客練習英語的情景至今讓他記憶猶新。
古市扶輪社社長葛媛荷（Liz Gallegos）說，提高識字率是扶輪社重點關注和資助的項目之一，她期待與欣欣的合作模式為其他更多地區的扶輪社效仿。
欣欣教育基金會長朱偉人感謝扶輪社多年來給予的合作支持，他讚揚扶輪社成員時時處處發揮助人為樂的精神，先後數次給青海、遼寧、湖南等地的居民贈送了所需的醫療器械和總共近千張輪椅。

庫比蒂諾扶輪社對欣欣教育基金會捐出有史
以來給欣欣單次捐款最大的一筆款項7萬3000元，19日下午由庫市扶輪社會長葛媛荷

朱偉人。
Cupertino Rotary Club has made the largest single donation
$73K to Shin Shin Educational Foundation on Feb. 19th. Sandy Chau,
the president represented Shin Shin to received the contribution delivered
in person by the Cupertino Rotary Club president Elizabeth Gallegos accompanied
with former president and members.
扶輪社自2005年開始，多次對欣欣捐款，連同19日的支票，扶輪總共捐出25萬4千元，用於捐贈中國大陸偏遠地區學校圖書用。
葛媛荷表示，扶輪社有120萬會員分布於全世界，會員不但投身公益事業，捐助款項也包括了本地社區、全球需要、青少年服務、職業訓練等贊助。葛媛荷指出，教育方面的需求，一直是扶輪社長期關注的重點之一，未來對中國需要的教育，扶輪社仍將繼續贊助。
曾隨欣欣教育基金會到中國拜訪，前庫比蒂諾市長馬弘利指出，扶輪社在全世界各地都有分社，在中國只有北京及上海二所分社，對回饋地方的公益事業方面，仍有不足之處。
「與欣欣的合作是項很好的配合，」馬弘利指出，欣欣位於庫比蒂諾，是致力於教育的非營利機構，但又在中國各地建了300多所學校，長期照顧偏遠貧困地區，這些都合乎扶輪社的捐助條件，加上欣欣教育基金會的幾位前任會長和理事如龔行憲、丁永慶等人，同時服務扶輪社及基金會，結下良好合作關係。
朱偉人致詞感謝扶輪社長期以來的贊助。「在扶輪社的贊助下，欣欣總共捐贈了11萬1000本書，」朱偉人表示，達到欣欣多年前訂下的「欣欣學校一人一書」的目標。朱偉人指出，欣欣舉辦作文比賽，許多學童將得到書本的心得寫出，非常感人，可到< a href="http://www.shinshinfoundation.org/essaycontest2009/">欣欣征文比賽网站阅读。

and 13 other
Chinese and oversea Chinese charitable organizations, passed the first round of "Chase
Community Giving" co-sponsored by Facebook, and each won $25K donations and a ticket
to enter the
second round, expecting to receive 1 million top prize.
第一輪活動於12月16日結束，14家華裔或非華裔創建、以中國和海外華人為援助對象的組織入選，其中包括為海內外華人提供緊急救助的「海外華人互助會」，長期在中國偏遠省區舉辦學校、扶持失學兒童的「欣欣教育基金會」和「海外中國教育基金會」，以及為病童提供心臟手術的「天使心基金會」等。
The first round ended on Dec 16, and the winners include 14 Overseas Chinese organizations,
such as Chinese Mutual Aid International Network, Shin Shin Educational Foundation and Overseas China Education Foundation and Angel Heart International, etc.

欣欣教育基金会筹款会顺利举行 Shin Shin Fundraising Showcase Went Smoothly

會長朱偉人在會中報告了欣欣教育基金會成果及未來目標，創會人之一卲中權也分享了他探訪這些學校的心得。籌款目標是35萬元，希望拉近中國偏遠地區學童教育城鄉差距。Shin
Shin Educational Foundation held its annual fundraising event at the Quinlan
Community Center in Cupertino yesterday afternoon. Mr. Sandy Chau,
Shin Shin’s president reported Shin Shin’s past accomplishment and introduced
the future goals. One of Shin Shin’s founding members, Mr. Zhongquan Shao, also spoke at the meeting. Shin Shin aims to raise $350,000 through the fundraiser and to use the money to further narrow the gap in education conditions between urban children and children who reside in remote countryside.
邵中權說，12年前，山溝裡的孩子需要一間不漏雨、有陽光的教室，於是欣欣教育基金會開始建校。至今在中國偏遠地區蓋起325所學校，卲中權也每年二度探訪這些學校，昨日他分享了千山萬里行的點滴。Mr. Shao, who has been
visiting schools on behalf of Shin Shin since 2004, said that Shin Shin
started with a simple idea 12 years ago: to provide the children in the
remote countryside with classrooms that have enough light and do not have
leaky roofs. To date, Shin Shin has help built 325 schools all over China.
At 80 years old, Mr. Shao has been making month-long trips twice a year for
the past few years and he has visited nearly all of Shin Shin’s schools.
Yesterday, he shared with the audience his experience and thoughts about his
visits to Shin Shin’s school and time spent with Shin Shin’s children.
欣欣教育基金會會長朱偉人表示，該基金會的義工及捐款人皆是來自華人社區的善s心熱情人士，都是為了教育百年大計共同付出，尤其古柏蒂奴歷任市長、市議員、扶輪社也大力支持，萬分感謝，也很高興昨日現場來這麼多人熱心參與，尤其多位義工捐出物品義賣，共同心願就是把關心帶到中國偏遠地區。對當地學童教育來說意義重大。Mr. Chau expressed his appreciation to Shin Shin’s donors and volunteers,
most of whom came from the community and joined Shin Shin to contribute back
to the community at large. Mr. Chau made special acknowledgement to the
city of Cupertino, its mayors, city council members and Cupertino Rotary
Club, who have continuously supported Shin Shin’s program and visited Shin
Shin’s schools. Mr. Chau was also delighted that so many were present at
the event. Many Shin Shin volunteers participated in the various programs
at the fundraiser, many of whom also donated items to be auctioned at the
fundraiser and/or made other generous donations to ShinShin.
他表示，今年繼續推廣圖書計劃、師資培訓，也提供許多音樂器材，所舉辦的徵文比賽得到100餘校、上百位教師、上簽名學生參與，工程浩大，成果也集結成書，希望藉此拋磚引玉得到善心人士共鳴，進而改善農村地區學童教育品質。至於四川地震受損學校也已經修建。According to Mr. Chau, Shin Shin will continue its successful follow-up
programs, including literacy program for providing books and building
libraries, English Teacher Training program for providing training to
teachers, and special follow-up fund that can be used to purchase
teaching equipments. Starting in 2008, Shin Shin also organized writing
contests, which were open to all Shin Shin schools. In 2009, hundreds of
teachers and thousands students from over 100 schools participated in the
writing contest. Shin Shin hopes to raise awareness so that more people will
support and/or join Shin Shin’s effort in improving the education conditions
of the elementary school children in remote areas in China. In 2008, Shin
Shin also organized a special earthquake relief program to help some schools
damaged during the Sichuan earthquake.

Shin Shin’s accomplishments through PowerPoint presentations, bulletin boards,
and short movies (focusing on Mr. Shao’s visits and a joint social survey
conducted by Shin Shin and Peking University Youth Group, which were very well
received). Volunteers and donor also interacted with each other and
participated in the auctions and a raffle program, the proceeds of which will
also be used to further Shin Shin’s programs.

【2009年12月9日】欣欣教育基金会本周末将在 CUPERTINO 举办2010年筹款会， 目标是35万9千元，主要用于基金的后续各个项目。欣欣呼吁社会各界继续关注中国贫穷地区 学童的教育，发扬爱心，踊跃捐款。Shin Shin Educational Foundation will hold a fundraising showcase for 2010 in Cupertino. The donation target is $356K, mostly for follow-up programs. Shin Shin calls all people in the community continue to care for the education of the students in poor areas of China, by supporting them with love and donation.

.h2>第二屆祖炳民杯徵文賽圓滿結束 Shin Shin 2nd Essay Contest Successfully Completed

10月15日由欣欣教育基金會主辦、中國各欣欣學校協辦的歷時六個月的2009年第二屆"祖炳民"杯欣欣學校徵文比賽圓滿結束。
本屆徵文比賽自4月1日拉開帷幕，得到21個省（直轄市）118多所學校師生的熱烈響應，近10萬名中小學生參賽。經各學校選拔推薦，1600餘篇徵文匯集到北京；6月初欣欣志願者根據比賽要求進行入圍資格甄選；從7月份比賽進入評審階段，經清華大學"飲水思源，服務社會"優秀學生培養計劃的第八期33個學員和欣欣10餘名志願者組建的"徵文比賽欣欣志願者初審委員會"對入圍的近1400篇徵文進行初審；9月根據初審結果呈交特邀的5名教育出版界專家終審。志願者們在各階段的評審工作中他們遵照公平、公正的原則和具體的評分標準，付出了大量的時間和精力，對每篇文章進行了至少3人次以上的獨立評審、打分。整個評審歷時3個半月，於10月15日如期完成，評選出246篇優秀徵文。評出了一等獎徵文15篇，二等獎徵文25篇，三等獎徵文60篇，優秀獎徵文145篇。
欣欣教育基金會正在把全部的獲獎徵文集結成書。預計將在12月送達各欣欣學校師生及關心貧困地區教育愛心人士手中。這是完全出自欣欣學校孩子之手的作品，樸實自然稚嫩，不乏童趣的話語記錄著孩子們簡單生活和並不簡單的內心世界，匯聚了祖孫、父子、母女、師生、同學之情。抒寫著教師的真性情，學生的價值觀以及人世間最純真的愛。語言簡潔不失精細，樸實而內斂華彩，將讀書、思考與觀察緊密結合，其中流淌歡樂，充滿艱辛，讀之令人動容。
欣欣教育基金會朱偉人會長表示，欣欣一年一度的籌款展示，訂於12月12日, 2009年 (星期六Saturday)，1:00 PM 至 4:00 PM假Cupertino Quinlan Community Center舉行（10185 N. Stelling Rd., Cupertino, CA 95014, ）。
欣欣與北大合作暑期調研 Shin Shin Cooperated with Peking University in Summer
【2009年10月27日星岛日报】 欣欣教育基金會自1997年成立之後，在十二年之間於中國各地已陸續捐建修葺了325所欣欣小學。除了建校還有捐贈一人一書，設置電腦教室，英語師資培訓，改善學校設備的後續基金等計劃。讓中國偏遠地區的孩子們有一個較佳的讀書環境。 欣欣教育基金會執行長李競芬表示，近年來在中國經濟的快速發展衝擊下，各校的規模、交通及地區發展已有改變，導致學校的需求亦與前不同。為了解學校現況及需求，今年透過北大教育基金會施旭東總裁聯絡北大校友會及共青團北京大學委員會，第一次嘗試與中國國內大學社團合作。 由欣欣教育基金會會長朱偉人提供經費，湖南湘西區域負責人萬惠冬設計學校現況問卷調查表並協調湖南省僑辦協助落實計劃。配合北大學生放暑假而欣欣小學還在上課的時間，針對湖南湘西的欣欣小學進行測試性的調研工作。此次調研工作北大團委遴選及培訓了八位北京大學同學分為兩組，各七天時間訪問了湖南湘西34所欣欣小學中的22所學校。北大學生不僅僅是深入窮鄉僻壤為欣欣小學進行調研工作，調查欣欣小學現況及需求，還為身處鄉間的孩子們藉由大哥哥大姊姊的交流，知道讀書可以實現理想和對外界多一份了解。對於居住在城市的北大學生，經歷到鄉間孩子的純真與貧困，更珍惜自己能夠接受高等教育。期盼將來自己也能為社會多盡一分心力。 欣欣教育基金會除了與美國古柏蒂奴扶輪社、樹華、青樹基金會等多個教育基金會及社團合作外，進而與中國國內大學社團合作。今年與北京大學合作，未來希望能與清華思源或更多國內各省大學社團合作。縮短城鄉差距，校校上網，令地處偏遠的欣欣孩子們也能與世界接軌，是欣欣基金會的目標。 欣欣教育基金會歡迎各界捐款，也需要許多義工，有意者請與人力資源組組長田伯寧聯絡(408)905-TIEN。
一篇北京大學同學的日記： "我們只是給了他們一點點希望，他們卻給我們整個春暖花開的世界"
孩子們都非常天真可愛，讓我們大笑也大哭。孩子們說“想學普通話，因為那樣就可以早點出去打工賺錢”；孩子們說“想學電腦，更想要一個教我們電腦的老師”；孩子們說“喜歡讀書，…”我們想為孩子們做得太多，我們能為孩子們做的又太少，我們只是給了他們一點點希望，他們卻給我們整個春暖花開的世界... The children are very innocent and lovely. This makes me laugh and makes me cry. The children said, “We want to learn Mandarin so that we can go to work sooner and earn money.” The children also said, “We want to learn how to use a computer and we want to have a teacher who can teach us these skills.” The children continued on to say, “We like to study…” We want to do so many things for the children but can only do so much. We only gave them a little bit of hope; nevertheless, they gave us an entire warm and beautiful world...

【2009年10月10日】山东省人民政府侨务办公室副主任呂善勇，山东人民政府新闻办公室副主任孔繁轲，济南市人民政府侨务办公室副主任张胜等五人，拜访欣欣教育基金会。呂善勇表示，海外华人是建设中国的力量，是国家建设的参与者，感谢欣欣教育基金会於山东建立12所学校，1间图书馆，并推动教育后续作业，带来了明亮的教室及良好的学习环境，辅助偏远地区学童就学。Five officials from Shangdong Province visited Shin Shin Educational Foundation. Mr. Lu Shanyong, the Deputy director of Overseas Affairs Shangdong Office, said that Overseas Chinese are building China's power and participants. He thanked Shin Shin Educational Foundation that built 12 schools, one library in Shangdong, premoted educational followup process, brought
students bright classrooms and excellent learning environments, and helped children in remote regions go to schools.

欣欣教育基金會10日由會長朱偉人、理事長臧大化、執行長李競芬以及欣欣義工數十人，
接待山東省僑務辦公室訪問團。
山東僑辦代表團由省僑辦副主任呂善勇率領，成員包括濟南市僑辦副主任張勝利、山東省政府新聞辦公室副主任孔繁軻、山東省僑辦成員吳海紅以及山東對外媒體副總編輯于霞。
欣欣教育基金會是山東僑辦拜會的第一站。呂善勇表示，一進門就受到欣欣人員熱烈歡迎，感覺就像回到家一樣。他指出，近年來山東僑辦和欣欣建立了深厚友誼，他感謝欣欣給予山東教育很大支持，現已援建12所學校、一座圖書館和五個後續項目，讓更多的山東學生獲得良好教育環境。
呂善勇指出，山東經濟發展很快，去年生產總值達2萬1000億元人民幣，居全國第二，但是山東人口眾多，內部發展不平衡，有些老區還比較落後。他希望欣欣教育基金會繼續支持山東。
山東僑辦代表團將在灣區停留兩天，當晚的活動還有參加山東同鄉會和齊魯會館的歡迎晚會，此後還將訪問洛杉磯、華府和紐約等地。
朱偉人向山東客人介紹欣欣教育基金會。他表示，欣欣在中國援建三百多所學校，其中不少在山東。欣欣前期工作重點以建校為主，現在正轉向後續建設。朱偉人說，欣欣所有義工都不支薪，欣欣為美國與中國每個省區都架起一座橋樑。臧大化表示，欣欣屬於義工，沒有義工就沒有欣欣，欣欣把海外華人的愛心帶到中國邊遠地區。
山東僑辦代表團向欣欣教育基金會贈送「杏壇之光」橫幅，並表示杏壇是孔子講學的地方，山東是孔子的故鄉，橫幅代表山東對欣欣教育基金會的衷心感謝。

本課外書的學生，帶來夢想、獨立思考、努力向上的勇氣。"Saving a cup of Starbucks coffee would gift a good book to a student in the rural China." said Huang Wen, the library project
manager of Shin Shin Educational Foundation, "It is not difficult to support the schools in the remote and poverty-stricken
areas in China. Just $1 or $2 would bring dreams, independent thinking skills, and the courage of hard-working to
students who never owned any extra-curricular books."

欣欣基金會支援川災區教育 Shin Shin Foundation Lending Hands to Help Education in the Sichuan Earthquake Zone
【2008年12月6日】欣欣教育基金會李競芬匯報說，08年欣欣發起抗震救災活動，共籌集到34萬2914元善款。
經過組團實地考察，基金會決定將善款用於支援重災區的重建工作（中國將5.12地震災區分為極重災區、重災區和一般災區，
其中只有極重災區有對口救援），包括在四川綿陽、甘肅隴南和陜西寶雞興建三所欣欣災區示範學校，和興建8所災區示範閱覽室。
Betty Yuan said that Shin Shin raised $342,914 for the Earthquake Special Fund in 2008. After delegation visits,
Shin Shin Foundation made decisions on donation allocation that will assist the reconstruction work in the disaster
affected areas ("5.12" earthquake disaster zones are categorized as the worst hit, severely affected, and moderately
affected areas, among which only the worst hit areas are given relief counterparts from the government), including
helping three Shin Shin model schools in Sichuan, Gansu, and Shaanxi, and building 8 model libraries.

【2008年11月13日】欣欣基金會2008籌款展示會訂於12月14日在CUPERTINO舉行。
今年的籌款會將比往年有不少新的內容﹐包括欣欣學校紀念品義賣﹐以及鼓勵民眾通過改變部份生活習慣﹐
將節省下的錢用于幫助欣欣學校學子創造更好的就學條件。每週少喝兩罐飲料，您可以為貧困的小孩購買30本課外讀物。
每週少用一次有害健康的快餐，您的捐款可以幫助您可以為貧困的小孩購買10套課桌椅。
每週一次帶午餐飯而非去餐館，您可以為貧困的小孩購買一台電腦，為他們打開放眼世界之窗。
Shin Shin's Annual Fundraising Showcase will be held in Cupertino on December 14th. The event of this year will present more new content than that of last year, including the auction of souvenirs from Shin Shin schools, as well as to encourage people change the part of lifestyle in order to save money that will be used to improve the learning environment of Shin Shin school students. By consuming 2 less soda from
the vending machine per week, your donation of $100 can buy 30 books for underprivileged kids in rural China. By reducing one fast food meal per week, your donation of $250 will help purchase 10 sets of desks and chairs
for underprivileged kids. By bringing lunch box to work instead of going out for lunch in a restaurant, your contribution of $500 can buy a
computer for underprivileged kids.
基金會理事長臧大化表示﹐欣欣學校越建越多﹐欣欣的目標不僅要建造學校﹐
還要把已經建造的學校建設得更好﹔因此需要籌募更多基金﹐用於學校的後續項目﹐包括購置電腦﹐
英語師資培訓﹐圖書館建設的內容。 他指出﹐由于受金融風暴影響﹐籌款可能比較困難﹔
希望各界繼續支持欣欣教育基金會﹐以籌到足夠的資金用于推廣欣欣辦學計劃。David Tsang, the Chairman of the Shin Shin Educational Foundation, said that as Shin Shin builds more schools, the goal of Shin Shin is not only to construct new schools, but also to improve the schools that have been built; hence, Shin Shin needs to raise more funds for school follow-up projects, including the purchase of computers, English teacher training, library project. He pointed out that due to financial crisis, fundraising may be difficult; Shin Shin still hopes to receive support from the public and raise sufficient donations for promoting Shin Shin's mission.
