江西 Jiangxi

2003-2005共興建、維修十所欣欣小學。Shin Shin rebuilt and remodeled 10 schools in Jiangxi from 2003 to 2005.

江西省，簡稱贛，地處中國東南偏中部長江中下游南岸，古稱江西省為"吳頭楚尾，粵戶閩庭"，乃"形勝之區" 。省會是南昌。因公元733年唐玄宗設江南西道而得省名，意思是位於江南的西部地區。又因為江西最大河流為贛 江而簡稱贛。 江西三面環山，可以看作是一個北面略微開口的盆地。長江的重要支流贛江幾乎從南到北縱貫全省。江西的氣候屬 於亞熱帶季風氣候。 經濟水準明顯低於鄰近的浙江、廣東和福建，與湖南、湖北、安徽三省水平相近。江西歷史上一直是稻米的主要產 區。並盛產柑桔、茶葉、毛竹和杉木。 人口以漢族佔絕對多數，佔總人口的99％以上。江西南部與廣東省東北部、福建省西南部一起還是漢族客家民系的 主要聚居地，現今當地仍保留著具備客家傳統的生活習俗。 "新平冶陶，始於漢世"，從漢代起，江西省景德鎮就開始了製瓷歷史，據文獻記載已有近1700多年的歷史。在這 漫長的製瓷歷史進程中，它集各地名窯之大成，匯聚製瓷技藝之精華，形成了獨具特色的景德鎮瓷器，並以品種繁 多，裝飾豐富，造型優美，製作精良而著稱于世。 江西歷史悠久，山川秀麗，人文薈萃，名勝古蹟眾多。其中廬山作為"世界文化景觀"列入"世界遺產名錄"； "不識廬山真面目，只緣身在此山中"。 江西省九江市南部，有一個舉世矚目的"珍禽王國"----鄱陽湖國家級 自然保護區。鄱陽湖為中國最大的淡水湖，同時也是世界上最大的候鳥棲息地。 Jiangxi is centered on the Gan River valley, which historically provided the main north-south transport route of southern China. Mountains surround Jiangxi on three sides. Jiangxi's climate is subtropical, and rice is the dominant crop in Jiangxi. Jiangxi is rather poor among the provinces of China. It is located in close proximity to some of the richest provinces of China (Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian), which are sometimes blamed for taking away talent and capital from Jiangxi. Jiangxi is over 99% Han Chinese. Minorities include Hui and Zhuang. The Hakka, a Han Chinese people with their own distinctive identity, inhabit the southern parts of the province. The Lushan National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

江西省自2003年起開始接受美國欣欣教育基金會的捐贈。目前，基金會在江西省捐建的小學共計10所，其中宜春市 奉新縣7所，南昌市進賢縣1所，撫州市樂安縣1所，九江市共青城1所。2006至2007年間，有8所學校得到了後續基 金的支持，得以購買桌椅板凳、教學用品以改善教學條件。此外，還有10餘名英語老師接受了基金會的英語培訓， 顯著提高了欣欣小學的教學水準。基金會在這數年內對江西省貧困地區的教育資助，為改善江西總體教育條件作出 了積極的貢獻。 Shin Shin started funding the school renovation project in Jiangxi in 2003. A total of 10 schools benefited from this effort. Seven of the 10 are in Fengxin County. The schools also received follow-up fund support to purchase desks, chairs, and other educational equipment to improve the educational environment. Furthermore, over 10 English teachers received training, which remarkably raised the teaching standard of these schools. Shin Shin's focus on the education of the despondent area also made a positive contribution to the general education of Jiangxi province.
