四川 Sichuan

2002-2007共興建、維修二十二所欣欣小學。Shin Shin rebuilt and remodeled 22 schools in Sichuan from 2002 to 2007.

四川省，簡稱川或蜀，是中國西南地區的一個省，省會位於成都。四川由於 歷史悠久、物產豐富、風光秀麗，自古被譽為"天府之國"。四川位於中國 西南地區，長江上游，是中國內陸腹地省份之一，四川西部地區是青藏高原 的一部分，東部地區則大都位於四川盆地內。四川與重慶、陝西、甘肅、青 海、雲南、貴州和西藏自治區接壤。四川的人口絕大多數是漢族（95％）。 其中人數較多的少數民族依次是：彝族、藏族、羌族、苗族、回族。由於四 川盆地的地理因素，四川存在盆地意識，四川文化也有別於其他地方的文化 。四川人的方言被稱為四川話，其語言主要屬於官話方言。大量的發音都和 國語相似，但聲調基本上都不一樣。四川方言有一些特殊的詞彙。四川道教 文化發達，佛教傳入四川盆地，四川西部部分藏族聚居區信仰藏傳佛教。 Sichuan literally means four rivers. The area lies in the Sichuan basin and is surrounded by the Himalaya to the west, Qinling range to the north, and mountainous areas of Yunnan to the south. The climate is often heavily foggy. Several cities are quite polluted and seldom get sunny days. Sichuan has been historically known as the "Province of Abundance". It is one of the major agricultural production bases of China. Sichuan's beautiful landscapes and rich historical relics have also made the province a major center for tourism. The Three Gorges Dam, the largest dam ever constructed, is being built on the Yangtze River in nearby Hubei province to control flooding in the Sichuan Basin, neighboring Yunnan province, and downstream. The majority of the population is Han Chinese, who are found scattered throughout the province. Significant minorities of Tibetans, Yi, Qiang, and Naxi reside in the western portion.

欣欣在四川己竣工有22個學校，另有四個學校將於2008年竣工。宜賓-6所 (2008三所新校)，南充3所，巴中2所(2008一所新校)，九寨溝2所，甘孜2所 ，達州2所，阿埧州一所，資陽一所，簡陽一所，遂寧一所，及雅安一所， 總共26所學校。學生將超出6,000人，老師將超出103人。居民生活較辛苦， 很多學生離校較遠，很多住校，校舍陰暗潮溼，學校多半是危房，學校也沒 有微機等設備。由於欣欣建設基金和後繼基金，其中21個學校設立了圖書室 ，八個學校加了電腦設備，三個老師參加了英語師資陪訓班，學生在校學習 和住校環境都大有改進。另外欣欣與斯坦福亞裔肝臟中心合作，在2004年， 給於四川3,500名學生，每人三針防疫針，並給於四川學生和家人，乙肝的 醫療護理和常識。 There are 22 Shin Shin schools built in Sichuan. Four more will be built in 2007-2008. The schools located in these cities: Ye Bing-6 (two more will be built), Nan chong-3, Ba Chong-3 (one more will be built), Jiuzhaigou-2, Ganzhi-2, Dazhu-2, Ayba- 1, Zhiyang-1, Janyang-1, Swiling-1, and Ya-ann-1. A total of 6,000 students benefited from Shin Shin's effort. With the follow-up fund support, 21 schools have a library, eight schools have a computer lab, and three teachers participated in the English Teachers Training Program. Shin Shin collaborated with the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University in 2004. The program covered 3,500 Sichuan students, each with three vaccines. Healthcare education courses were given on Hepatitis B and other common medical knowledge.
